Game rules and help with Apple Music, a TV, purchases, language and saved games. The app requires an iPhone or iPad with iOS 17 or later. The interface follows your device language; the button names below are the English ones.

Apple Music and sound

Full songs require an active Apple Music subscription on the device controlling the music. Without a subscription, the app plays available clips of up to 30 seconds, and it tells you when a song has no clip. Only the host needs the subscription. A Musikkbingo content purchase does not include Apple Music access.

  1. Open the Music app and check that the Apple Music account on the device can play a catalogue song. Complete any prompts about terms or privacy there.
  2. Return to Musikkbingo. Choose “Connect Apple Music” and allow access to Media & Apple Music. If access was denied, the error message may show “Open Settings”.
  3. After changing permission or your subscription, return to Musikkbingo. The app checks access again. Tap “Connect Apple Music” again if needed.
  4. When the music is ready, choose “Everyone is ready”. Each round starts playing when you tap “Play the song”.
  5. If playback appears to be running but you hear nothing, check the volume and selected audio output. A connected speaker may have its own volume control.

The app checks the songs in Apple Music before the game begins. Playback needs an internet connection, and available songs and clips vary by account and region. If an error persists, open “Error details” and choose “Share error details” to save or share the report.

TV and speaker

Open “Play on TV” or “Show on TV” in the app for guidance. The host continues controlling the game on the device. The TV shows the category, letters, answer and scores.

  1. Connect the device and an AirPlay TV to the same Wi-Fi network.
  2. Open Control Centre and choose Screen Mirroring. Select the TV.
  3. Return to Musikkbingo. The game scene appears when the display connection is ready.

A suitable display cable also works. “Choose speaker” selects the audio output. Connect the TV picture through Screen Mirroring or a display cable.

You can play around the device without a TV.

Team games and points

Form two to four teams. The host can guess too: the title and artist appear when the answer is revealed. The app does not listen to spoken answers; the host reveals the answer and awards points.

Categories and themes

The question tells you what to listen for. “Show hint” gives more context when you ask for it. In the word game, one new letter appears for each 20 seconds of confirmed playback. Keep guessing until the host reveals the answer.

An answer starts at five possible points. Points decrease as letters are revealed, with at least one point available until the whole word is visible. A fully visible word earns zero. “Show answer” freezes the points. An incorrect point award can be undone before the next round.

Guess the song

The title uses letter hints and title points. The correct artist earns two separate points. You can award the title points to one team and the artist points to another. The setup lets you choose Norwegian songs only.

Length and difficulty

Choose 6, 10 or 15 rounds and Easy or Challenging. Your selection may have fewer distinct recordings than your requested round count. If a selection is empty, choose another difficulty or collection.

After the answer, you can keep listening before the next round for as long as the available playback allows.

Play solo

Play solo offers five songs with four answer options. Choose Easy or Challenging. Answer at your own pace. Each correct answer earns one point.

Play solo can be played without a content purchase or Game Center.

Daily Five

Everyone gets the same five songs and answer options in the current Game Center daily period. You have one attempt per day and can earn up to 5,000 points. This mode requires Game Center.

20 seconds per song. The deadline starts when playback is confirmed. Switching apps or pausing during an active song does not stop the deadline. You can pause between songs.

Connect to Game Center when the app asks. Your attempt is registered at the start, and points are sent to the daily leaderboard. Use the same Game Center account and device to continue a saved attempt. Choose “Continue your attempt” when it appears.

If the result has not been submitted, it stays saved locally. Connect again and choose “Send result again”. A new attempt becomes available in the next Game Center daily period.

Your Game Center nickname and points can appear on the leaderboard. Read what is sent to Apple.

Purchases and subscriptions

Colors, Animals, Guess the song, Play solo and Daily Five can be played without a content purchase. The seven other word categories and the theme collections require a purchase.

Under “Content and prices” you can buy categories and themes individually, all word categories together, or the full library as a one-time purchase. You can also subscribe weekly, monthly or annually. A subscription gives you the full library while it is active. Eligible new subscribers can try three days free when Apple confirms eligibility. Permanent purchases can count toward a discounted upgrade to a larger pack. Apple supplies the prices and terms, which appear before you confirm a purchase.

Offer codes are redeemed with “Redeem offer code” on the same screen.

Restore a purchase

  1. Use the Apple Account that made the purchase.
  2. Open “Content and prices” in Musikkbingo.
  3. Choose “Restore purchases” at the top of the screen.

Earlier one-time purchases

Valid earlier one-time purchases unlock all nine word categories. An earlier theme purchase retains access to its theme when that collection is available. Version 2 has seven available themes: Christmas, Norwegian football, World football, Birthday, Schlager, Halloween and Love. An earlier complete-library purchase grants access to the available library.

Norsk gull, 17. mai and Sommer have no playable content in this version. Earlier purchases of these are recognised and unlock all nine word categories. Contact us if a purchase is not recognised.

Manage a subscription

Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled with Apple. Cancel at least 24 hours before a free trial ends to avoid payment. Choose “Manage subscription with Apple” on the purchase screen to view or change it. When subscription access expires, content covered by your valid permanent purchases remains available.

Your Apple Music subscription is managed separately with Apple. Apple's standard app EULA.

Language

The interface and questions are available in English and Norwegian. The app follows your device language, and you can override it under “Settings” in the app. Song titles and artist names keep their original language.

History and updating

New games are stored on the device and can be resumed. Result cards are shared only when you choose to share them. Team games and history are not synced through a separate Musikkbingo account.

When updating from version 1 on the same device, earlier games and settings remain in a local archive. Unfinished games from the old version appear in that archive and cannot be resumed as active version 2 games.

In “Privacy and usage”, you can turn off “Keep a local usage log”, choose “Delete usage log”, or share the log manually. Turning it off stops new entries. Deleting the usage log does not delete game history or purchases.

Read about storage, deletion and daily attempts before deleting the app as a troubleshooting step.

Feedback from the app

Musikkbingo 2.0.1 and later have a feedback button in Settings and offers feedback when you take a screenshot. Describe what happened and choose whether to include the image. The report is sent when you tap “Send”.

Email hei@musikkbingoapp.no if you need a reply. Feedback sent from the app has no automatic reply address. Read what the report contains.

Customer support

Email hei@musikkbingoapp.no for help with Musikkbingo. You can also use support@musikkbingoapp.no.

If something goes wrong, note your app version, iOS version, what you tried to do and the error message. “Share error details” lets you save a report for later.
